What is Mid Essex ITT?
Mid Essex ITT offers teacher training at secondary level across Mid Essex. We have been training teachers for 25 years and currently work with more than 20 local schools. Our course is offered on either a full or part-time basis over a period of 1 or 2 years.
Am I eligible to train?
You will need to have a 2:2 or above along with grade C or above for Maths and English GCSE.
We provide training in the following subjects:
• Art & Design
• Business Studies
• Computer Science
• Design & Technology
• Media Studies
• Modern Foreign Languages
Ideally, 50% of your degree needs to include one of the above subjects in order for you to be eligible to teach it. However, if you do not fulfil this criterion, you can complete a Subject Knowledge Enhancement course which is free of charge for shortage subjects.
Will I get paid?
Teachers are more in demand than ever before so there are bursaries of up to £26,000 available for shortage subjects. There are maintenance grants and loans available too. You will need to pay tuition fees of £9,000 which can be applied through Student Finance. Once you have qualified, teachers start on a salary of at least £22k so you will be able to pay off your student loan too. As a student, you will still be eligible for an NUS card too!
How do I apply?
