Last year the school held an extremely successful week of fundraising for Children in Need, raising £1961! We have been congratulated by the BBC for being in the top 100 schools in the country for our charity work for Children In Need, which we are extremely proud of.
This year we will be holding a similar Charity Week from 14th – 18th November to raise money for the BBC Children In Need appeal. Each year group will have a day in the week on which to raise money during break and lunchtime in the main hall and foyer. Students will be asked to organise activities in their tutor groups and there will be a prize for the tutor group in each year group which raises the most money. The week will be organised as follows:
Year 7 – Monday 14th November
Year 8 – Tuesday 15th November
Year 9 – Wednesday 16th November
Year 10 – Thursday 17th November
Year 11 – Friday 18th November
Friday 18th November (Children In Need day) will also be a non-uniform day and students will be asked to donate £1 to wear non-uniform on that day.
Possible activities include: cake sales, guessing games ( the name of the teddy, sweets in the jar), raffles, bric a brac sales, etc. Students will also be able to organise their own sponsored events out of school if they wish.
There will also be a whole school raffle, with prizes being a signed photo of Jessica Ennis-Hill and a signed cookery book from Jamie Oliver. Tickets will be on sale from L3 or in the hall at break and lunch times (20p a ticket and £1 for 10).
Students should bring a small amount of cash to school during the week please in order to support all the events.
The deadline for bringing in any money raised will be Friday 2nd December.
Thank you for your support with this event. We are looking forward to another really enjoyable and successful week.
