Essex Schools Robert Cook Under 15s Cup, Preliminary Round – 30/9/15

Year 10 v Thurstable: 1 - 8

MOM: Milo Edwards, some great saves against an onslaught of attacks, very quick off his line.

Once again the Year 10’s faced a high quality opposition in the Essex Cup.  This time the draw was very unfair and drew us against a side that was full of academy players in the Preliminary round!  The boys stuck with their trusted formation of 4-6-0, hopefully with the thought of flooding the midfield and stopping Thurstable’s passing game.

Essex Schools Alf E Wood Under 14s Jubilee Cup, Preliminary Round – 28/9/15

on Thursday, 01 October 2015.

Year 9 v Anglo European: 7 – 0

MOM: James Morgan, first game for the school and kept the oppositions best player quiet for most of the game.

The first game of the season can always be nerve wracking especially if it is in the Essex Cup where the opposition is an unknown quantity.  Mr Edwards took charge and put the boys in an innovative 4-1-2-2-1 formation which gave Jack Wardley and Haydn Castell the chance to have a free role behind the lone striker, James Shearer.
